Más sobre el proyecto ESPA EST

The project ESPA EST is addressed to SME entrepreneurs who, learning Spanish language, wish to develop and expand business contacts in the European Union: to managers, employers and employees from Central Europe in particular with their chance of development doing business with Spanish companies.

Efficient communication is essential for running effective business nowadays. In our project the priority was given to develop relevant and innovative e-learning content in order to achieve concrete and measurable business effects.

Why was the ESPA EST Project created?

For an EU citizen who takes advantage of free movement of people, capital and services, good intercultural and language skills are very important. Being effective in the global market economy, cooperating with companies from other EU countries and being able to communicate in different social and cultural contexts are important factors and conditions to achieve success in business.

Small and medium enterprises are usually deeply immersed in local context of the economy. As they do not operate on a global scale, it would be advisable to create suitable tools for them to expand the scope of their activity to other EU markets e.g. by learning Spanish business language. Spanish is becoming more and more popular language in international economies and a tool of business communication. The European aspect of the project reveals in the fact that after the enlargement of the European Union, it will contribute to make easier the relations between so called old member states and new ones which joined the EU in May 2004.

According to the Spanish Chamber of Commerce located in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, the project might be particularly useful for the branches: food manufacturers (fruit and vegetables), institutions related to tourism, communications, transport companies, electrical firms, and in general to wholesale and retail traders.

About the ESPA EST Project

On-line course of vocational Spanish language will consist of the following elements: general basic communication, office management, business correspondence, legal language, traveling in Spain. However, the detailed description of particular modules of the project you can find on the homepage.

The course will be combined with database including information necessary to do business in Spain. Moreover we are planning to organize meetings for Spanish and Central European entrepreneurs (in Spain, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic) and to promote the ideas and the products of the project making easier mutual contacts and business cooperation between partner countries.

Target groups of the project are in micro dimension: entrepreneurs from SMEs of project partner countries, own organization, students, language trainers/teachers, workers and managers. In meso dimension they are: external education personnel, professional associations, sector organizations, multinational company directors, training centres, e-learning centres; and in macro: EU, National Agency of LdV Programme (intermediary).

Our project is a response to the Leonardo da Vinci Programme objectives: it contributes to the increase of mobility and exchange between European countries, to the improvement of professional skills and competences with regard to language and business training and to the improvement of quality of continuing vocational training. It contributes also to the creation of networks of companies and professionals and the preparation of easily accessible reference and training materials.

Advantages of participating in ESPA EST course

Managers and SMEs workers due to their professional obligations, lack of time and busy schedules, thanks to ESPA course, dictionary and database may raise their qualifications and continue their vocational training without limited time frames. E-learning and distance learning have gained on popularity in Europe in the recent years and now with ESPA EST Project we want to bring this process to Central European countries, contributing to real digital inclusion of our region. In Central Europe this kind of initiatives seems to be a vacuum. Interactive teaching methods with the use of the newest didactic tools on-line, allow the learner to adjust their pace of work to their individual needs and make his timetable more flexible.

In ESPA EST course we would also like to propose a modern approach in language learning: CLIL • Content and Language Integrated Learning, which unites language training with specialized  knowledge • in the project with business. Therefore course participants will be able to use their knowledge from the very beginning.

Summing up, we want to show and give to the SMEs the tools that will enable them, in the long run, doing effective business between Central Europe and Spain on their own. Thanks to the ESPA EST project, they will also be able to encourage and guide other SMEs in that process in the most efficient and professional way.
